Now does this seem like a good idea? How could this have been passed through the city council. I do not understand. Why do we need more guns?

This "passed" because the council is smart enough to know that LEGAL gun owners are not the problem.

I have no issue with shotguns and rifles used for hunting, but I think the world would be much better off if handguns were only legal in the hands of the military or law enforcement. I see no other useful purpose for those weapons (along with assault rifles).

So you disagree with the idea of people being able to protect themselves from criminals, who really don't care it their guns are legal or not?

Remember, when seconds count, the police are minutes away. The police have no legal duty to protect you.

CB - It's odd that you rarely hear of anyone defending their turf, like you suggest. And those that do often end up in jail for shooting an unarmed intruder. Is it worth it? I don't think so. In all the mass killings lately, you'd think that there would be someone of your ilk present to save the day.

You dont hear the self defense stories unless "media" decides its super juicy and fires up the bees to match their agenda. These stories do happen all the time.
I am not defending the bad guys, but you notice how the media prints what it wants about these people? It took half a year to see the bloody face photos of zimmerman...and this latest incident, the media had a picture of the shooter in two different links on their site...one had the guy with blood red eyes (presuming red eye from camera flash) on their main page, but deep in the story, the SAME picture had been photoshopped to normal eye color (or was it the other way around which one was shopped...). Not to mention the whole "white hispanic" thing...
The media is using stuff like this to force their agenda upon us by altering peoples thoughts about stories and events. I would hope you would have enough common sense to make up your own minds.

Please look up Nick Meli. He saved the day at the Oregon mall or there would be a lot more casualties. Of course you won't hear about it in the MSM/

Here is the kicker. The mall has those "no firearms permitted signs" posted. Though Mr. Meli had a permit to carry he was technically illegal to be in the mall. That is the kind of places these nut jobs target - places like schools, theaters, malls were firearms are not permitted. Thus they know they will meet no resistance. That is why Chicago is such an armpit with gang flash mobs targeting people. There is no CC in Chicago or IL for that matter I believe. IMHO

That's weird Mike. I knew the name from Karl Denninger's blog and put it in the search on the Microsoft homepage, which is bing I thought? Try it and see what you get.

"He saved the day at the Oregon mall or there would be a lot more casualties." You are assuming he saved the day and assuming there would be a lot more casualties. And even in reading your extremely biased sources we have the word of just this one guy. Perhaps it's true but it is a weak argument for the case of "if more people had been carrying"..........
