Hudson Hospital's Cancer Victory Garden Needs Helpers

Local cancer survivors, caregivers and members of the community are invited to participate in planting seeds at the first-ever Cancer Victory Garden on Saturday, May 12 at 10 am. While members of Hudson Hospital’s Cancer Education and Support Group are leading the efforts to plant the garden, they are in need of helpers, both experienced gardeners and novices, to get their first gardening season started.

Two plots in the Community Garden, launched in 2011, have been provided for the Victory Garden by Hudson Hospital & Clinics and are located on the hospital campus.  One of the 10’ x 20’ plots will be planted with a variety of vegetables while the other will be a flower garden with a resting area. Other plots have been made available by the hospital for rent by community members.

Participants in the cancer victory garden will nourish their bodies and souls by planting seeds of hope for cancer survivors, increasing physical activity, eating nutritious food and building positive community relationships.

Whether it rains or shines, the scheduled planting will go on.  Bring your garden tools and meet us at the south side of the hospital in the Emergency Center parking lot off of Center Drive.
