New Youth Choir to begin in Hudson, WI – Singers Needed
The River City Chorale Board of Directors and Artistic Director Andrew Haase, are pleased to announce the next phase of choral singing within The River City Chorale organization, The River City Youth Choir. This new choir will be open to all singers grades 4th through 7th from the St. Croix River Valley are and beyond. The children’s choir will be under the direction of TRCC artistic staff of Andrew Haase and Jodell Krause.
Haase, who is also the Director of Chorale Activities at Hudson High School, is thrilled to provide this singing opportunity to youth singers in the St. Croix River Valley. “In the past few years many individuals have approached me to start a youth choir program in Hudson. There is a strong desire and need within our local communities to provide our youth with more singing opportunities.”
Rehearsals will be held weekly on Thursdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 1901 Vine Street in Hudson. The first rehearsal will begin on Thursday, February 21st. There will be no rehearsal on Thursday, March 7th due to the Hudson School District’s spring break. The Youth Choir will present their debut concert on Saturday, April 27th in collaboration with the Hudson High School Chamber Choir.
Interested singers are required to participate in vocal interviews on either Thursday, February 14th from 3:30-5:30pm or Saturday, February 16th from 9am-11:30am at The First Presbyterian Church, Hudson. During the interview, students will be asked to sing easy scale patterns, sing a line of a familiar tune, echo sounds and rhythms as well as reading aloud. Prepared songs are not required for interviews.
There is a $100 dollar registration fee for students wishing to participate in this 10-week choir experience.
All registration information and fees must be completed at the time of your child’s vocal interview.
