Hundreds turned out to congratulate Hudson native , Los Angeles Kings defenseman, and welcome to Gornick Arena on Monday afternoon.

Some fans waited in line for more than three hours for their 10 seconds or so with the cup while a photographer snapped a shot and volunteers rushed them along. The event photographer shot more than 420 portraits of groups and individuals posing with the cup.

Just before 7 p.m., several speakers addressed those who had stuck around. In addition to Drewiske, speakers included Hudson Mayor Alan Burchill, State Rep. and former Hudson Mayor Dean Knudson, former Hudson Hockey Association President Russ Lewis, former Varsity Hockey Coach Mike Stoskopf, Athletic Director Steph DeVos, and current Varsity Coach Brooks Lockwood.
