Garbage Truck Slides Into Utility Pole, Causes Power Outage in North Hudson
Xcel Energy is on the scene working to repair the pole and restore power to the neighborhood.
Power is out this morning in a North Hudson neighborhood after a Veolia garbage truck slid on an icy driveway and struck a utility pole in the 200 block of Helen Street North just before 8:30 a.m.
North Hudson Police Chief Mark Richert said the outage may have been responsible for alarms triggered at the Lake Mallalieu dam and an apartment building on Wisconsin Street North.

Surprised they didn't do a bunch of field sobriety tests on the driver!

@Bloc... that is just a perfect comment.
Actually muliple tests could have been adminstered:
1. On the driver of the truck -- who knows what he had been imbibing in.
2. On the truck itself -- it may have been running on intoxifying fuels.
3. On the pole -- why wasn't it quick enough to have moved out of the way?
Where was officer Barney Fife when we needed him.
