Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co. Serves Up Caffeine, Conversation

You could call it the Hudson Bagel, Pastry, Sandwich, Smoothie, Salad, Breakfast, Ice Cream & Coffee Co.—and even then, that title would leave out many of the items and services that provides.

Whether you want to take up residence at one of the business' tables or its fireplace lounge, reserve their meeting room, grab a quick bite at the drive through window or have your eats delivered or catered, Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co. can oblige.

For you early risers, Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co. offers a hot breakfast along with more traditional coffee shop options—and you even receive a free mini-muffin with your morning meal.

"I want customers to have a good experience—a tasty one," Rick Weber, owner, explained.

How did this scumptious enterprise come to fruition? 

"The owner of the property asked me if I was interested in opening a coffee shop. We got to talking and another group that was opening a bagel shop backed out, so I kind of got talked into the bagel shop idea," Weber noted.

Even though Weber may not have originally intended to go into the bagel business, Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co. bakes more than 15 types of bagels in its kitchen each day.

"We bring in about a thousand pounds of flour a week and we use it all," Weber said. 

If, like me, you're trying to drop a few pounds, it's almost unfair to be presented with so many choice carbs—all behind glass, of course. (Please do not feed the writers.) Each day of the month has a special bagel. Today, it's wheat with everything.

For those looking for a place to celebrate the upcoming holiday, Hudson Bagel & Coffee Co. is open Easter Sunday from 7 a.m.-3 p.m. for all of its customer favorites, including the summer sunshine latte, caramel crunch bagels and shakes made with real ice cream.
