Accomplishment: Overcoming obstacles with a smile on his face. Despite serious health problems, including epilepsy, Type 1 diabetes and Tourette syndrome, Jamal takes on each day with courage and has made exceptional progress in his education this year.
Key to Awesomeness: A positive attitude and perseverance. Jamal's nominator says that his compassion and determination keeps driving him forward, and his individuality and pride keep him balanced.
