The Hudson School District has cancelled school for Tuesday, Jan. 22, because of the cold. There will be no classes, no activities and no school-age care.

It is amazing to hear for what they close the school nowadays. When our son was in school, it needed to be -30 as a criteria to close the schools, Now it is -12 with a wind chill of -25!

CAN SOME PEOPLE COMPLAIN ANYMORE?? SERIOUSLY? THEY STILL HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL THE SAME AMOUNT OF DAYS EVERY YEAR. WHO CARES WHAT DAYS THEY HAVE OFF? CAN WE ALL COMPLAIN WHEN YOU HAVE DAYS OFF?? HOW ANNOYING. QUIT ACTING LIKE YOUR LIFE WAS SO MUCH TOUGHER, AND YOU WALKED UP HILL AGAINST THE WIND BOTH WAYS TO SCHOOL.

...back in ot-six we used to go to school in absolute zero...and liked it!!
sometimes it would get -80 below kelvin, and on those days we finally put on a coat!

Many of my customers that came through on Monday mentioned how River Falls and Hudson were closed for cold temps, but all the other area schools were delayed 2 hours at most... I know that Baldwin-Woodville had school hours as usual. I'm wondering if this will come back later to bite the powers-that-be in the backside as in running out of snow days... again!!!

Is there nothing that you can't find to bitch about? You know it is a Communist/Socialist/Islamo-Fascist plot to put Sharia Law into place so that all of your guns can be confiscated.
It's also likely related to the complete Government takeover of Healthcare and the establishment of Death Panels.
The day off allowed the Black Helicopter people to map the areas so that the schools can be turned into re-education camps at a moment's notice.
