UPDATE: No Make Up Days Required for Recent School Closings
The Hudson School District has announced that no makeup days will be required for the three weather days this school year. Daily schedules could be affected if more cancellations take place.
UDPATE (5:34 p.m., Jan. 29, 2013): The Hudson School District has issued a press release explaining that despite three school closings due to weather this school year, no make up days will be required.
Schools were closed Dec. 9 due to snow, Jan. 22 due to cold and Jan. 29 due to icy conditions.
If more closings occur this year, the district plans to hold a review of student instructional time and possibly adjust daily schedules to account for any needed makeup time.
The following is the full text of the district's news release:
Students in the Hudson School District will NOT need to make up the recent school closing days resulting from inclement weather. The district’s school calendar includes student instructional time that extends beyond the number of hours required by the State of Wisconsin. If additional school closings occur between now and the end of the school year, further review of student instructional time will be required and adjustments made to the daily schedule if needed. The district appreciates the patience and understanding of our school families. The difficult decision to delay and or close schools best balances the safety needs of ALL students with the regrettable inconvenience experienced by families.

Hudson Schools are closed today, Tuesday, January 29th. We apologize for the inconvenience but road conditions have not improved enough to allow safe travel for buses. All after school classes and activities are canceled.
