Why No Video on Patch?
Jon Wekkin of MSBN issued the following statement about Saturday's game:
As most of you are aware, our Hudson Raiders football team is having a truly remarkable season. I've had the true privilege of broadcasting all their games this season on our website MNSportsNetwork.com and also on Hudson Patch.
On Saturday, we will again be going on the road to Stevens Point to bring you another playoff match up against a very good Appleton North team in the third round of the Division 1 playoffs. Last week we ran a video broadcast of the game against Bay Port, a resounding Hudson victory, which was viewed by a very large audience from literally all over the country.
The WIAA requires media apply for a license (along with a payment of a fee) to run video for playoff games, which we were granted for the Hudson/Bay Port playoff broadcast. We had every intention of again running video this week for the Appleton North game, and I applied for the video broadcast rights on Monday morning. I was informed on Wednesday that, due to an exclusive video rights agreement with another media outlet, we would not be able to run video on our broadcast for this game.
I am very disappointed in this decision by the WIAA, but we are obligated to abide by their rules. Last year a lawsuit was filed against the WIAA by Gannett Media over the rights for video broadcasts of playoff games, so this issue has been a controversial one that has even received some national attention.
Consequently, our broadcast on Saturday will be audio only just as it was for the first playoff game against Eau Claire Memorial and the regular season game against Rice Lake back in September. I just wanted to set the record straight regarding this upcoming broadcast tomorrow as some viewers may be wondering why we won't be running video as we did last week.
If Hudson wins, we will again apply for the video rights for the next game and if we are granted that then we will again be running video. Thank you to all the great fans that have tuned in to our games all season, thanks to the Hudson Patch for carrying our broadcasts, and thanks to the players and coaches of this great Hudson Raiders football team for this memorable season.
LET'S TAKE THIS ALL THE WAY TO STATE!!!!!

Other Ways to Enjoy the Game
Go to Stevens Point: Local businessman Paul Rode is organizing a Raiders fan caravan for those driving to Stevens Point to cheer on the Raiders at Goerke Field. Drivers with extra room in their vehicles will be paired up with people who need a ride. The caravan will line up on Second Street in front of The Agave Kitchen and depart at 8 a.m.
Stay at home: FOX Sports Wisconsin will carry the Hudson-Appleton North game live on TV, but Comcast cable in Hudson carries FOX Sports Minnesota instead. If you want to watch it at home, you'll need either DirectTV (669) or Dish Network. It's unclear at this point whether FOX Sports Wisconsin Prep Zone will livestream the game online. Audio is available here on Hudson Patch, on MSBN and at 95.7-FM (Thunder Country) on your radio dial.
Find a viewing party at a Hudson bar/restaurant: Several Hudson-area establishments carry FOX Sports Wisconsin and will be showing the game, including the following:
