Pro-Cuts to Open Shop in Hudson

Pro-Cuts is planning to open near Target in the space recently vacated by Blockbuster. It will be the first Pro-Cuts location in Wisconsin.

UPDATE (4:50 p.m., April 10, 2012): A Pro-Cuts spokesperson got back to me this afternoon via email with the following information:

Pro-Cuts figures there are about a thousand things a guy would rather do than fuss with his hair. So they’ve boiled it down to the basics. Haircuts. At Pro-Cuts, guys can just sit back, relax and catch up on the latest scores, team news and game highlights on the HDTV in their individual haircut station while their stylist takes care of the rest. Pro-Cuts also serves up the extra point by including a shampoo, head and neck massage, hot-towel treatment and some extra grooming attention at no additional charge with each haircut. American Crew products will be carried exclusively. Game on!
Location: Exact address is TBD, but it will be located on Carmichael Rd near Hwy 94, near Caribou Coffee.
Timing: Right now it's looking like Pro-Cuts Hudson will be open by mid-summer.
Why Hudson? Hudson is a prime trade area and a great place for us to continue the growth of Pro-Cuts.
Employees: We are currently in the process of hiring a staff and are always looking for team players to add to our roster. Stylists can apply online at GetaProCut.com
Audience: Men and boys of all ages, who live and breathe sports.
Other locations: There are 11 Pro-Cuts in Minnesota, five in New York, two in Colorado and one in Ontario. This is the first Pro-Cuts in Wisconsin.
Products: Pro-Cuts proudly carries American Crew Products because they get men's hair.
Services: At Pro-Cuts, we're focused on the basics. Haircuts. Prices are as follows: Pro-Cut $18; Semi-Pro $15 (18 years and under). Haircuts include shampoo, head and neck massage and a hot towel treatment.

ORIGINAL POST (12:46 p.m., April 10, 2012): Blockbuster vacated its space at 101 Carmichael Road just weeks ago, and already a new tenant has signed a lease and plans to open up shop in part of that space, according to Mark Norman, real estate director for Regis Corp.

Pro-Cuts, which is affiliated with Regis Corp., specializes in haircuts for men. There are more than 10 Pro-Cuts establishments in the metro area, including locations nearby in Woodbury, Maplewood and Eagan.

Maple Grove welcomed its second Pro-Cuts location in late February, and according to Maple Grove Patch, "Each stylist station has a TV for customers to choose the channel while getting their haircut. In addition to the basic haircut, patrons can also choose to get the 'Extra Point' haircut which includes a shampoo, head and neck message and hot towel treatment."

Pro-Cuts public relations representatives could not yet comment on who will operate the franchise or when it might open.

When it does open, the new shop will compete against established local barbers Fantastic Sams, Great Clips, The Stylists and Charlie's Barber Shop & Shave, as well as several other hair salons that accept male customers.

The company working to lease the space says Pro-Cuts won't be the only tenant doing business at the former Blockbuster.

"We anticipate two more tenants signing leases for the remaining space," said John Trautz, of Trautz Properties Inc.

Just to clear things up, the only "barbershop" you listed is Charlie's Barber Shop & Shave. The other establishments you listed are cosmetologist run shops, not barbers. Pro-Cuts is not a barbershop, just to clarify. Not that it matters a whole lot, because Fantastic Sams and the other non-barber shops do good men's hair. I can't speak for Pro-Cuts because I have never been to one, but do we really need another salon/barber in the area?

no, I believe I employ the only Master Barbers in Hudson... Ask if they can perform a Straight Razor Shave.. That is the moment of truth.

Actually Kathy Stewart has had a barber's license for almost forty years and she did have to learn the straight razor shave. I don't believe it's a service she offers but I could be wrong. Of course as the first comment says, it doesn't really matter, as long as you get a good haircut.
