UPDATED: Forest Lake Man Cited for Careless Driving After Manning Crash

The crash was reported at about 1:36 p.m. Wednesday.

 

Three people were transported to area hospitals following a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon on Manning Avenue in May Township.

The crash occurred when a 37-year-old Forest Lake man, who was traveling northbound on Manning Avenue, attempted to make a pass and struck a 47-year-old Hudson woman’s vehicle—that was travelling southbound on Manning—head-on, Commander Cheri Dexter of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Forest Lake man, and a 29-year-old Forest Lake woman who was a passenger in his vehicle, were both transported to Regions Hospital. The Hudson woman was transported to Lakeview Hospital.

None of the injuries are believed to be life-threatening, Dexter said.

The Forest Lake man was cited for careless driving and passing in a no-passing zone.

The St. Paul Pioneer Press is now reporting that the three people extricated in Wednesday's two-vehicle crash in May Township were all taken to area hospitals.

The head-on crash involved a Forest Lake couple and a Hudson woman when one of the vehicles was attempting to complete a pass.

One of the drivers — a 37-year-old Forest Lake man — was taken to Regions Hospital. The other two patients — a 29-year-old Forest Lake woman and a 47-year-old Hudson woman (the driver of the other vehicle) were taken to Lakeview Hospital.

Manning Avenue will reopen to traff shortly after 3 p.m. after being closed due to a serious car crash at Manning Avenue and 148th Street in May Township.

At least three people needed to be extricated after the two-vehicle crash, according to police. Additional details about the crash were not immediately available.
