Sport Clips Preparing to Open Hudson Location

Store construction was completed last week, products and supplies are being set up this week at the Sport Clips franchise set to open in Hudson on March 1.

Sport Clips, a salon that specializes in haircuts for men, is planning to open the doors to its new Hudson location the first time on March 1, according to franchisee Jeff Foley. A grand opening will take place later.

Foley said the store construction was completed last week and that products and supplies were being set up this week. He is still interviewing and hiring stylists to work in the shop in the new strip mall at Carmichael Road and Center Drive. Sport Clip neighbors will include the recently opened Orange Leaf yogurt shop and a Noodles & Company eatery.

Those interested in working at Sport Clips can apply online at JoinSportClips.com or call 800-434-0757 or 715-808-0078. The new shop's website is HaircutMenHudsonWI.com.

The nearest Sport Clips location is in Oakdale, and it also was run by Foley until he sold it in 2010. Foley also owns Sport Clips franchises in Eau Claire and Chippewa Falls.

Sport Clips will compete with the recently opened Pro-Cuts location and established local barbers at Fantastic SamsGreat ClipsThe Stylists and Charlie's Barber Shop & Shave, and several other hair salons that serve male customers.

Well, how could your neglect to mention Ann O'Brian, City Barber Shop in downtown Hudson? A treasure.

The lettering on the window is City Barber, so I'm going with that. The Stylists window is Judy Gillen.

I was under the impression that you were renting a chair in the existing shop.

Micheal i think your "impression" is mostly that i have been a customer of Ann's for over 10 years and the window on one side is City Barber Shop and the other is the Stylists you must have seen. I do think it should be noted that Ann's and only a few of the others are licensed barbers vs. "stylists" and there are important licensing points. But the main point is Ann is the Owner of City Barbers and it is an LLC.. and she is the best "barber" i have ever had and as an old dude that is saying something!.. Let's hope they all do well as each has it's own plus' and Ann is the best! Chuck Volin

I thought City Barber Shop went out of business in 2010 or 2011, and Ann just rented a chair at The Stylists.
