Musician, Paul Imholte, will be stolling the Park for the Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival this weekend. If it has strings, Paul Imholte probably plays it. Paul Imholte performs traditional and original music on nearly a dozen string instruments.
Paul’s featured instrument is the hammered dulcimer which is a trapezoid-shaped instrument played by striking strings with light hammers. A forerunner of the modern piano, the hammered dulcimer has an ancient and enchanting sound. The starting point for Paul’s dulcimer repertoire is traditional American music, but he often throws in music ranging from Bach to The Beatles.
Along with the dulcimer, Paul sings and plays the fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, and jaw harp. He sings songs of farming and small towns and the people who make their living on the land.
Paul has performed throughout the United States at festivals, schools and concerts. He has release eight CDs of hammered dulcimer music and original songs. His artistry is based on his love for acoustical string instruments and sharing that passion with audiences.
The Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival will showcase a variety of performing talent. Live acoustic music will be performed both days on two stages at the Lakefront Park Band Shell and in the Artist Village.
The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau, in partnership with The Phipps Center for the Arts, invites you to join us for Spirit of the St. Croix Art Festival, September 22-23 in Lakefront Park.

More About Lakefront Park
Lakefront Park, located along the scenic St. Croix River, is the crown jewel of Hudson parks. This park has it all, including playground equipment, swings, a beach with lifeguards in the summer, sand volleyball courts, a boat launch, a performance stage, picnic tables and benches. Lakefront Park is marked with a familiar arch. The paved paths along the water make it easy for folks to enjoy the river. One walkway extends nearly to the Minnesota side of the river; it's the remnant of a pre-Interstate 94 causeway.
