DESCRIPTION:Youth Action Hudson (YAH) is hosting our annual Empty Bowls e
 vent on Friday\, February&nbsp\;1\, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in 
 the Phipps Center River Room. The purpose of Empty Bowls is to raise awa
 reness about hungry people everywhere\, especially those living right he
 re in our own community. At the event guests pay $10 dollars for a handc
 rafted pottery bowl made by local artisans and students in the community
  as a symbol of food insecurity. Soup\, accompanied by bread is served t
 o everyone in attendance to enjoy along with musical entertainment. All 
 the money raised from the event is donated to a local organization worki
 ng to end hunger. Last year YAH and Hudson High School&rsquo\;s Social J
 ustice League donated $1500 to the Hudson Backpack program which provide
 s food to families in need through Hudson elementary schools. Our New Ye
 ar&rsquo\;s resolution for 2013 is to exceed this amount! If you are una
 ble to attend the event we welcome a soup or dessert donation to serve a
 t the event. We look forward to seeing you on February 1st!\n
