Local United Ways Team Up For A Successful Campaign Kick-off

The United Way St. Croix Valley in Hudson and United Way of Washington County-East in Stillwater teamed up last weekend for the fall fundraising campaign kick-off event.

“Hands Across the River” was a massive photo opportunity featuring more than 150 volunteers in United Way T-shirts joining hands on the sidewalk across the Stillwater Lift Bridge.

Hands Across the River was a remake of a photo opportunity created 24 years ago.  Both kick-off events helped to bring awareness to the community that the annual fund raising campaign was off to a start. Community members are asked to participate in the campaign with a donation, volunteering or advocating for those in need.

“Both of our United Ways have been supporting the residents of St. Croix Valley for more than 60 years,” said Angie Lien, Executive Director for United Way of Washington County-East. “We’ll continue to focus on serving those most vulnerable in our community so that these individuals and families have the services they need when they need it.”

The event was sponsored by Andersen Corporation, Bremer Bank, Cub Foods and Xcel Energy.
