Rep. Sean Duffy's Congressional Update in Hudson Postponed

"I looked forward to spending time with the businesses in Hudson and New Richmond, but I have been called back to address the serious issue of the continued funding of our government," U.S. Rep. Sean Duffy said in a statement.

Congressman Sean Duffy's Chamber event for Sept. 25 has been canceled, because Congress will be called back into session next week to address government funding in 2014.

The Hudson and New Richmond Chambers-sponsored legislative discussion will be postponed for a future date that is yet to be set.

Congressman Duffy released the following statement:

"I looked forward to spending time with the businesses in Hudson and New Richmond, but I have been called back to address the serious issue of the continued funding of our government.

Over the next few weeks I will be working hard to avoid a government shutdown and making sure that the services we have committed to will continue to be available.  I want to thank the Chambers of Hudson and New Richmond for organizing this meeting and J&L Steel and Electrical Services for agreeing to host.  I hope we can reschedule this important meeting in the near future.

I apologize for any disruption, the government fiscal year ends October 1st and both sides of the aisle are working to find common ground to pass a continuing resolution to keep our government working for you.  I look forward to meeting with you in the near future and I appreciate all the hard work you do and your commitment to America's prosperity."
