When Kathryn posted this question on the Hudson Patch Facebook page ...

"What is the ice formation across from Casanova's. Is this on purpose or accident? Either way, it's neat looking."

... a lot of people had answers

What do you wonder or know about this beautiful ice formation (seen in Anne Schilling's photo above)? Leave a comment below.

the natural "spring" that leaks out the hill...usually it just goes down to the sidewalk/road and they have to dump a$$ loads of salt on it to keep it in check. looks like its going vertical this year!!! wonder if they did something to make it do that...

Last winter, I would have enjoyed photographing the ice formation, but Casanova destroyed the appearance by hanging a banner across the base. This year the surrounding hillside looks horrible as it was clear-cut in the fall. The ice formation is beautiful! Next winter, the hillside should look much better as the undergrowth will have had a season to take over.
