Recycle Your Old Car Seats

Many of the 12 million car seats Americans buy every year eventually end up in a landfill.  But this month, the Hudson Area Moms Group is providing parents an opportunity to safely recycle old car seats.  The goal is to help keep them out of landfills and prevent expired or damaged seats from being re-used.  Seats will be collected, dismantled and recycled through the Safe Kids Wisconsin program.

The following seats are perfect to recycle:  Seats that are more than 6 years old, have been involved in a crash, have been recalled are broken or missing parts.  Any unwanted or expired seats are welcome.

Seats can be dropped off at Hudson Methodist Church (1401 Laurel Ave) on Thursday mornings 9:30 – 11.  (April 3, 10, 17 or 24).  The recycle fee is $3 per seat.

Parents can also recycle car seats at no charge through Safe kids Worldwide, by delivering seats to specified drop off locations on April 26.  The nearest location is Eau Claire.   All seats will be dismantled and recycled.
