The City of Hudson has declared a snowplowing event that started at 11:45 a.m. today, Monday, March 18, which means all vehicles need to be moved off of any city street until the street is plowed curb to curb.

The National Weather Service has placed the Hudson area under a winter storm advisory until 1 a.m. Tuesday, with 3-5 inches of fresh snow expected to fall in the valley.

  • TIMING: SNOW WILL BEGIN AROUND MIDNIGHT MONDAY AND TAPER OFF MONDAY MORNING. GUSTY WINDS WILL THEN DEVELOP MONDAY MORNING BEHIND A COLD FRONT BEFORE SUBSIDING MONDAY EVENING.
  • SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 3 TO 5 INCHES.
  • WINDS/VISIBILITY: SUSTAINED WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH...WITH GUSTS NEAR 40 MPH WILL CAUSE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW. VISIBILITIES MAY BE REDUCED TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES IN OPEN AREAS.

Monday's forecast is for snow with patchy blowing snow before 2 p.m.; light snow likely between 2-3 p.m.; then snow with patchy blowing snow after 3 p.m.

The high temperature is expected to be near 31 degrees.

For Monday night, the National Weather Service predicts more snow with widespread blowing snow before 9 p.m., a slight chance of light snow between 9-10 p.m., and then widespread blowing snow after 10 p.m. Temperatures should drop to about 4 degrees, with wind chill values as low as -13.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny, with a high near 23 degrees, with wind chill values as low as -15.
