Snow Will Continue to Fall, Caution Urged as Temperature Drops and Roads Become Icy

A winter storm warning remains in effect.

The first round of a storm front that brought a wintery-blend of precipitation to the Hudson area Thursday morning is over, but forecasters are expecting more snow to fall later this afternoon and into this evening.

"I would caution people to watch for the streets, hills, intersections and bridge decks to become icy as the temperature drops," Hudson Public Works Director Tom Zeuli said.

So far, the plowing is going fairly well, he said, the streets turned slippery as the rain and sleet turned to snow.

"The Public Works Department kept the hills, main thoroughfares and intersection cleared and treated with chemicals in the early morning and the full crew stated plowing about 11 a.m.," he said. "The snow is melting quite rapidly."

The weather forecast shows snow the rest of the afternoon and into the evening, Zeuli said. "So we will continue to monitor those conditions."
