Afton Art in the Park is This Weekend

The two-day, outdoor fine arts and craft fair includes 0more than 90 vendors showcasing fine arts, pottery, woodwork, jewelry, photography, sculpture, fiber arts and more.

The 35th annual Afton Art in the Park is going on this weekend in Afton Town Square on St. Croix Trail.

The event, presented by the Afton Area Business Association, happens Saturday, Sept. 28 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Sept. 29 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Live Folk/Jazz Music from the Park Pavilion:

  • Saturday features Kenzie Joy at 10:30 a.m. and Amy and Adams at 1 p.m.
  • On Sunday Patchouli takes the stage at Noon.

New this year: Stillwater's Studio One Yoga will lead a free yoga class in the park on Saturday morning from 9 to 10 a.m. 

Dance: Arthur Murray Dance Studios will present free Salsa/Swing mini-dance lessons and demos on Saturday at 2:30 and 4 p.m. 

Kids Art Korner: During both days of the event, the Kids Art Korner, sponsored by New Horizon Academy and hosted by local girl scouts, will offer free, nature-inspired crafts.  Children can also enjoy face painting or “crazy hair” for a small donation to the girl scouts. 

Beer Garden: The Afton House’s popular beer garden will be open both days of the event, featuring food, drink and live acoustical music in the afternoons.

Food: Food will also be available onsite including reubens, walleye sandwiches, Greek and Chinese food, kettle corn and more. 

According to an Afton Art in the Park news release:

Art in the Park began as a small art fair in 1979, hosted by the Riverfront Artisans group, a group of local artists.

Over the years, it has grown into an event that attracts thousands of visitors and includes artists from across the country.
