SCC Historical Society Annual Dinner

The St. Croix County Historical Society will hold its Annual Dinner Meeting on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at the Mama Maria’s Italian Restaurant in North Hudson. The meeting is open to public and starts with a social hour at 6:00 p.m., dinner at 6:30 p.m., followed by a short business meeting and a program.

The program will feature excerpts from the Willow River Cemetery Walk which was held earlier this year. Daryl Standafer will return to portray the colorful Charlie Ward. Charlie grew up a waif on the Seattle waterfront, rode with Pancho Villa in Mexico, served time at Leavenworth prison, and rose to become company chief of Brown & Bigelow.

High School seniors Brian Erdrich and Zoe Vnak will depict Thomas and Mary (Moffat) Hughes, former resident of Hudson’s historic Octagon House. It was the love of music that brought Tom and Mary together and they shared a life that revolved around their significant musical talents and their two sons.
