Bacon. Need I say more?
Croix Valley Sauces is working with the River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau to bring the inaugural Bacon Bash to downtown River Falls this weekend featuring all things bacon—with bites ranging from bacon ice cream to bacon-wrapped delights.
Here are the details:
- Sunday, Sept. 8 from 11a.m.- 4 p.m.
- Downtown River Falls on E. Elm St
The Bacon Bash will feature arts/crafts vendors, local micro-brewed beers, food vendors, and Amateur Bacon cook-off, kid's activities, live music and much more, Croix Valley Sauces Owner Damon Holter said. It will be held in conjunction with the River Falls Car Cruze-in classic car show.
“This will be a first annual event with the hopes to make this a weekend-long event in subsequent years that takes over Main Street River Falls with hundreds of vendors and activities,” Holter said. “The food vendors will be serving bacon-themed dishes and a People's Choice award will be presented for the public's favorite.”
The Bacon Bash has been listed as an automatic qualifier for the World Food Championships as well, affording the winners of both the People's Choice Award and the AmateurBacon cook-off an invitation to compete this November at the World Bacon Championships in Las Vegas.
“We are trying to generate some buzz about the River Falls Bacon Bash and are asking interested food and non-food vendors to sign up now to participate,” Holter said.
Event organizers are also looking for competitor's for the Amateur Bacon cook-off, as well as trying to generate interest in a Twins vs. Royals outing scheduled for Aug. 27, which includes transportation to and from the game, as well as a Bacon bash T-shirt to wear at the game for more event visibility.
