Hudson's weekend entertainment guide to art, music and the great outdoors.

It’s Thursday, cabin fever has reached its peak and you just want to shout from the top of a mountain.

Since the area is slightly altitudinal-ly challenged, save your yodeling days for the Alps...Hudson Patch has found a few other options for you to try out this weekend.


GALLERY ARTISTS

Where/When: on Friday & Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 4:30 p.m.
Why Go: Check out the inspiring sculptures, drawings and paintings of the following artists; Trever Nicholas, Jeff Hirst, Karron Notthingham, Barbara Thill Anderson, and Amy DiGennaro.

LAKE HOME & CABIN SHOW

Where/When: Minneapolis Convention Center on Friday, Feb. 11 from 2-8 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 12 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, Feb. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: It’s a bit further than a stone’s throw but it just might be worth it to break that cabin fever by getting a jump start on rekindling the summer love affair we undeniably have with cabins and lake homes.
Price: $10 Adults, $4 Youth 5-15 years, Children under 5yrs are Free

KARL BURKE

Where/When: on Friday, Feb. 11 from 7-9 p.m.
Why Go: Mr. Burke will be playing his guitar and singing live. And... it never hurts to have the luck of the Irish on your side this time of year.


CHERRYGUN

Where/When: on Friday, Feb. 11 at 9 p.m.
Why Go: Nobody rocks like the smokin’ hot 80’s band CherryGun. The live rock and country music will take you on a whirl wind evening through the 80’s to today.

 

CUPID’S SPRINT

Where/When: New Richmond Area Centre on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 9 a.m.
Why Go: A 5k Run/Walk is the perfect way to get your heart pumping for Valentine’s Day.
Price: $20 for the race but it includes a long sleeve T-shirt.
