August Blues is an acoustic trio made up of three high school seniors from Hudson, McKenna Selissen, Cavan Denning and Dylan White.

The trio have been playing music together they were middle-schoolers, forming the band in February 2012. Since then, they have enjoyed performing at coffeehouses, Minneapolis Childrens Hospital, and this spring, they played at the Artists’ Quarter and First Avenue/7th Street Entry.

They have also performed several times this summer as the pre-game band for the St. Paul Saints, and will be playing at Midway Stadium again on Aug. 19.

August Blues enjoys putting their own soulful acoustic twist to cover songs, in addition to performing original music.

They recorded their first CD “Out of the Blue” last August and hope to have a second CD finished by the end of this summer.

McKenna, vocalist with August Blues, has had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at various sporting events, including for the St. Paul Saints, Minnesota Lynx , the Canadian and US anthems for the Milwaukee Brewers last year and was invited back to sing again this year last month.

Local musician, and recent Hudson High School graduate, Ben Tresselt will join August Blues for a few songs on Tuesday night.

The show begins at 7 p.m.
