Bites Nearby: Hearty Meal or Just Hanging Out at DeMori’s

DeMori's new chef has introduced new daily specials and build-your-own burgers.

Whether you’re in the mood for a drink after work or a hearty meal,  in Oakdale might have what you’re looking for.

The Italian restaurant and lounge’s new chef has introduced a variety of new menu items and weekly specials including buttermilk chicken on Sundays, chicken scampi on Mondays and baby-back ribs on Tuesdays. The options are apparently so good employees fighting over what’s left at the end of the day, said owner Dennis Woulfe.

The menu also now includes build-your-own burgers that give diners at least 30 different custom burger options, he said. Despite all the new choices, the restaurant’s tried-and-true Sicilian sausage and peppers entrée remains its most popular dish besides pizza, Woulfe said.

For those who just want a few drinks, the restaurant’s happy hour specials run from 3-6 p.m. on weekdays and include $1 Miller High Life and Miller Light taps, $2.50 bottles and $4 mugs.

Pull-tabs benefiting the Maplewood-Oakdale Lions Club are also for sale.
