Dibbo's Building Sold, Craft Beer Pub Renovations Underway

The sale of the Dibbo's building to Last Man Standing LLC was finalized on April 9. Developers hope to open new craft beer pub in June.

You’ve probably noticed the Dumpster in front of the Dibbo’s building in downtown Hudson.

That’s there because the sale of the building to Last Man Standing LLC—a partnership between Anthony Dabruzzi, Aaron Kearns and Ed Bremer—was made final last week, and demolition is underway.

Plans are to remodel the existing bar, café and common area of the first floor before the craft beer pub opens in June, Dabruzzi told the Hudson Star-Observer.

According to plans presented to the Plan Commission, as reported by Hudson Patch, in November:

Once the property is in compliance with modern building codes, work would begin on the front of the property, which would house the restaurant and craft beer pub with new restrooms and a new kitchen. He estimated that portion of the facility — currently the bar and cafe — would seat 127 people.

Then restoration work on the outside of the structure will happen to restore the building to its 1875 glory, including opening up the arch window where horses used to enter.

When that’s complete the plan was to start work on the back portion of the property, which was the nightclub. The plan calls for turning the space into a banquet hall to be used primarily on weekends for a wedding and reception venue with seating for up to 300 people.

Renovation of the nightclub into an event center has been pushed back, Dabruzzi told the Star-Observer. The new goal is to start that project after the craft beer pub opens in hopes of booking events in 2014.
