A Hudson institution, Dibbo's was founded in 1956 by Vic and Bertha Fenner. For years, guests were greeted at the nightclub door by fixture Vic, who died in 2002.

Those who came of legal drinking age in the 1970s still recall the legendary "Banana Night," during which a banana -- which ended up in the cafe's famous pie the next day -- served as an admission fee.

Bertha retired in 2009, and her family and long-time employees ran the establishment until today.

Retail, office and residential spaces are planned for the two floors above. At the same time, the plan calls for restoring the original appearance of the 137-year-old building.
