Why leave town? La Rue Marche, Bella Luce, Lavender Thymes, Lillians and Elan offer great shopping experiences in downtown Hudson.

Whether you're looking for a handbag, a pair of cute boots, or a completely new wardrobe, there are several boutiques in downtown Hudson to shop for it. The following are the Patch Picks for Hudson boutiques:

La Rue Marche

features an eclectic variety of women's clothing, with stock including hats, jeans, purses, shoes, belts and intimate apparel. Store owner Lisa Shortridge is a former interior designer, and it shows—La Rue Marche is charmingly framed in vintage decor. Mugs, books and gift items are also sold.

Bella Luce Boutique

Family owned and operated for the last two and a half years, features clothing and jewelry from all around the country, though it buys much of its merchandise from Arizona and California. Lavender Thymes

Walk into and you'll be greeted by a fresh, floral scent emanating from various scented candles, fragrance oils and bath salts. Also on sale are a variety of gift books, gift baskets and cards and women's apparel, including blouses, floral sweaters and jeans. An array of party snacks such as pretzels, chips and various dips are also on display.

Elan

features a variety of national and international brands of jewelry, clothing and accessories. It has been open since the 1990s and has  an impressive array of dresses, jeans, handbags and lingerie.

Lillians of Hudson

is open four days a month along Hudson's historic downtown Second Street. It's part of a chain founded by a couple of sisters and now named for their grandmother. Their goal is to take women's fashion out of malls and suburban environments and put it back on main street. They franchise out new shops regularly, looking for women who are polished professionals, respected in the community. The point with Lillians isn't necessarily the brands or the number of changing rooms, but the overall feel of the shop—simple, friendly, hospitable to every kind of woman.
