Patch Picks: The Best Places in Hudson to Watch the Packers in the Super Bowl

The Packers are in the Super Bowl; get out of your living room and watch the game among fellow fans.

The Green Bay Packers will play in Super Bowl XLV against Pittsburgh Steelers. The game will be aired on FOX starting at 5:30 p.m. Packer fans from all around Hudson will encircle TV sets in living rooms and sports bars. If you're looking for the best Super Bowl-watching experience complete with food, drink and atmosphere, you should be at one of these fine local establishments:

The Village Inn Sports Bar and Grill

 in North Hudson is as close to perfect as you can get. Two well-placed 10-foot projection screens and a total of 22 TVs ensure that you'll see the game no matter what direction you're facing. There are even TVs in both restrooms. Football is king here, especially when Wisconsin's Green Bay Packers are in the Super Bowl. For the big game, the Village is holding a tailgating party with brats, wings, $2 tap beers. There also will be giveaways during the game.

Buffalo Wild Wings

 is no-brainer on any sports bar list. This place was built for watching sports with nine 104-inch projection screens and a total of 45 TVs. The open floor plan allows for easy sight lines to TVs in any direction. Buffalo Wild Wings knows its wings, as the name suggests, and its beer selection is superior to most anyplace this side of St. Paul. BWW will offer a special of two tall domestic beers and 25 wings for $20. Even if you wuss out and watch the game at home, Buffalo Wild Wings has impressive take-out wing special to keep your Super Bowl party going strong.

Uncle Mike's M Pour E Yum Sports Bar and Event Center

 is east of town just off Interstate 94's Exit 4. Uncle Mike's quickly becoming a football-watching destination on Sundays; this week will be no different. Uncle Mike's has two 12-foot projection screens facing different directions in a large dinning area, and 10 other TVs in a bar area and a smoking room. From 3-5 p.m., Uncle Mike's will serve Captain and Cokes for $2.50, along with the usual Sunday special of a bucket of five domestic beers for $10. The clincher is a free halftime buffet.

Dick's Bar & Grill

With the Hot Air Affair in town this weekend, there's a lot going on at . The ideal downtown location of Dick's makes it the de facto epicenter of all activities on weekend like this. The bar has 13 TVs with surround sound, food specials, and even free shots. Starting at 2 p.m., Dick's will hold its 16th annual Chili Cook Off. Once the game gets underway, at about 5:30 p.m., Dicks offers a free shot with every Packers score along with special on the Patty Packer Backer and Football Franks. Dick's regular Sunday wing night special kicks in at 7 p.m. as well.

Starr's Tavern

 in North Hudson offers a bit of a different experience from the big sports bars in town. Off the main drag, this place is for townies, neighborhood friends and folks who can't stand the bandwagon jumpers. Starr's has seven big TVs and a cozy, rustic atmosphere that Packers fans from the Northwoods can appreciate. On any given game day, Starr's patrons hold a makeshift potluck for the Packers fans. This week, being a special occasion and all, the bar is giving away free pizza.
