Sport Clips to Open Hudson Location in 2013

A local developer says he has signed a lease with Sport Clips in a soon-to-be-built development at Carmichael Road and Center Drive. The shop is shooting for a March 1 opening date next spring.

Sport Clips, a salon that specializes in haircuts for men, has signed a lease in  and is hoping to open for business around March 1 according to David Robson, a partner in the Ban Tara development firm.

Jeff Foley, who owns other Sport Clips franchise shops in the Eau Claire area, will run the Hudson shop as well. 

He said he expects to be able to bring eight to 12 new jobs to town, including managers, receptionists and several stylists.

Sport Clips of Oakdale is an independently owned barber shop with a sports theme. It specializes in hair cuts for men and boys. The locker room atmosphere includes TVs playing sports, local sports memorabilia and plenty of sports magazines.

Robson's development plans were approved by the city at the , and he announced on July 31 that . The building will have space for up to four more tenants, and Robson is working on leases with other national chain businesses to fill the space.

The new building will look nearly the same as buildings that house other shops in the development, including , , , , , , ,  and more.

Another Sport Clips franchise is coming soon area at 13325 60th St. N. in Stillwater, according to the Sport Clips website.

In April, . No opening date was given.

When the two salons open, they will compete against established local barbers ,,  and , as well as several other hair salons that accept male customers.
