Target Lays Off 475 at Corporate Headquarters

The company is also leaving 700 open positions unfilled.

Target Corp.’s corporate headquarters in Minneapolis will see sweeping layoffs, the Star Tribune reported Wednesday.

The company announced that it is laying off 475 employees and leaving 700 open positions unfilled. The company has about 12,000 people at the headquarters and is the fourth largest employer in the state, according to Twin Cities Business.

The Star Tribune noted that the country’s second-largest retailer had slow growth in sales and profits last year and then was hit by hackers in a data breach whose ramifications are still unfolding.
