What's Open and Closed in Hudson for New Year's Eve and Day?

New Year's Eve is here and people are ready to celebrate. But it's important to know what businesses may close early on NYE and what businesses will be closed (or open) on New Year's Day. Here's what we can tell you:

GOVERNMENT

• Hudson City Hall is closed New Year's Day.
• The St. Croix County Government Center is open until 5 p.m. New Year's Eve and closed New Year's Day.
• Most liquor stores, including Northland Liquors, Hudson Liquors, Spirit Sellers and Patch Readers' Choice Winner Historic Casanova Liquors are open until 9 p.m. New Year's Eve. Most liquor stores are open regular New Year's Day, though Casanova Liquors' Nova Wine Bar is closed on New Year's Day.
• The United States Postal Service won't deliver mail on New Year's Day.

SCHOOLS

• Students of Hudson Public Schools, are on winter break through Jan. 1. They return to school Wednesday, Jan. 2.

BUSINESSES

• Most major gas stations will not close New Year's Eve or New Year's Day, though Mike's Standard Service will be closed New Year's Day.
• Business hours will vary for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Check our business directory to get the phone numbers of businesses to call for hours.
• National stores such as Target, Walmart and Walgreens will be open. (Walmart closes New Year's Eve at 8 p.m. and reopens at 8 a.m. on New Year's Day; Walgreens Pharmacy has limited hours on New Year's Day from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

BANKS

• Banks will be closed New Year's Day. Call for hours on New Year's Eve.
