Did You Remember to Fall Back?: Daylight Saving Time Has Ended

Did you set your clocks back an hour before going to bed? If not, you could be an hour early for whatever you have planned for today.

What are you up to this morning? Are you headed to church or having brunch with friends? Perhaps you're going out to cheer on Angie Hatch as she runs the New York City Marathon in Hudson. Whatever you have planned, make sure you don't show up an hour early because you forgot to fall back.

That's right, it's that time of the year again. We set our clocks back tonight for the end of daylight saving time. We will gain an hour of sleep Saturday night, but starting on Sunday, the sun will set before 5 p.m.

Daylight saving time officially ended at 2 a.m. on Sunday, at which time we re-lived the hour between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

Make sure to set all your clocks back an hour, and don't miss any. Almost everyone remembers their alarm clock on their nightstand, but what about your wall clocks, microwave clock, stove clock, computer, cell phone and your car's in-dash clock.

In addition to changing your clocks, Hudson Fire Chief Jim Frye urges folks to change the batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. Frye also recommends that residents use the extra hour to make sure those devices work by pushing the test button, plan two ways out, and practice escape routes with the entire family.
