Hudson School District Cancels School Due to 'Unusually High Teacher Absences'
The Hudson School District because of "unusually high teacher absences." At least 20 Hudson teachers took the day off to traveld to Madison and take part in protests against Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.
Hudson School District Superintendent Mary Bowen-Eggenbraaten said she was "disappointed in the teachers who chose not to come to work." Hudson Teachers Union President Scott Ellingson said he was disappointed that teachers had been put in that situation in the first place. Both expressed apologies to the families disrupted by the school closures.
