UPDATE: Tornado Watch Lifted for Hudson Area

A tornado warning was issued 2:55 p.m. and expired at 3:30 p.m., but the area remained under a tornado watch until after 5 p.m.

UPDATE (6:13 p.m., May 22, 2011): The National Weather Service has lifted the tornado watch for the Hudson area.

UPDATE (3:30 p.m., May 22, 2011): A tornado warning was issued 2:55 p.m. and expired at 3:30 p.m., but the area is still under a tornado watch until 8 p.m.

Tornados have produced property damage in Fridley, St. Louis Park and other areas in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metro area.

UPDATE (2:59 p.m., May 22, 2011): The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for St. Croix County until 3:30 p.m. Plum City, Elmwood, Spring Valley and Weston are in the path, but the warning has been extended to all of St. Croix County:

A tornado watch is in effect for the Hudson area until 8 p.m.

St. Croix County joins several other counties in the watch, according to the National Weather Service.

The NWS says dime-size hail is possible.

Should severe weather hit the area, the NWS advises residents to find space in a lower level of your home and away from windows.
