Workers Prepare Lake Mallalieu Bridge for Resurfacing

Lanes have been narrowed to 9 feet on the Highway 35 bridge that links Hudson with North Hudson. Work is scheduled to be completed on June 30.

Road construction is under way on Wisconsin State Highway 35 at the bridge over Lake Mallalieu that connects the city of Hudson and the village of North Hudson. 

The project, which involves a mill and overlay of the bridge deck, is schuduled to be competed on June 30. 

Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) contractors on Monday set up barricades to close the northbound lane of the bridge to vehicles and pedestrians, while the southbound lane was converted to two 9-foot-wide lanes. Pedestrians can still use the sidewalk along the southbound lane.

Once the workers finish the northbound lane it will be opened and work will begin on the soutbound lane.

According to the WisDOT website, crews also are working on the Interstate 94 bridge of the St. Croix River, and both eastbound and westbound lanes on Interstate 94 from Exit 4 to Exit 10.
