Volunteer opportunity: help ready award-winning outdoor classroom for another year of learning.

Come out and help Hudson k-5th graders clean up their outdoor classroom

More than sixty volunteers are needed to work alongside the River Crest Elementary School community to clear buckthorn and engage young people in stewardship.

Saturday, August 17
8:30 am - 12:30 pm
River Crest Elementary School
535 County Trunk F - Hudson, WI

School is starting early in Hudson, at least for a day, in the outdoor class room of the LEED Gold certified River Crest Elementary School. As its name indicates, River Crest is located on the St. Croix River, on a beautiful, triangular site landscaped with native and adaptive vegetation to promote bio-diversity. It was built in 2008, and awarded that year with the "Green Judges' Choice" by Green Education Design Showcase. One element that earned it this distinction is the outdoor classroom that helps teach students about the environment and how protect it.

Come out and help these k-5th graders enjoy another year of learning!

Lunch is provided. All ages welcome, children must be supervised. Pre-registration is required, sign up at www.greatrivergreening.org.
About Great River Greening is a local conservation nonprofit with a mission to secure the legacy of Minnesota land and water through community-based restoration, stewardship and partnerships.
