Youth Action Hudson Empty Bowls Dinner

Youth Action Hudson (YAH) is hosting our annual Empty Bowls event on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Phipps Center River Room. The purpose of Empty Bowls is to raise awareness about hungry people everywhere, especially those living right here in our own community. At the event guests pay $10 dollars for a handcrafted pottery bowl made by local artisans and students in the community as a symbol of food insecurity. Soup, accompanied by bread is served to everyone in attendance to enjoy along with musical entertainment. All the money raised from the event is donated to a local organization working to end hunger. Last year YAH and Hudson High School’s Social Justice League donated $1500 to the Hudson Backpack program which provides food to families in need through Hudson elementary schools. Our New Year’s resolution for 2013 is to exceed this amount! If you are unable to attend the event we welcome a soup or dessert donation to serve at the event. We look forward to seeing you on February 1st!
