The Political Wrap-up in 5 charts and 2 cartoons

Chart 1 - Congressional approval is dismal.  Before you blame the red team, however, the precipitous drop 7/8th along was the Affordable Care Act (ACA).  We didn't want it, and we still have it, which means both parties fail.

Chart 2 - This legislation has been so rightly vilified and the rollout so poorly handled that more people have enrolled for a one-way trip to Mars than Obamacare.

Chart 3 - It would be unfair to say the blue team was to blame for out debt problems as both Bush's grew the debt, and Ronald Reagan kicked the whole thing off.  Pretty sure he had veto power but when you can end a recession with borrowing - who cares?  What's odd is that Slick Willy and Newtie-poo come out looking like hero's.

Chart 4 - This chart shows the Gordian knot the Private Bank called the Federal Reserve (The Fed), which owns our currency and is as Federal as Federal Express, has backed itself into trying to fund the US Governments Debt in large part by reflating the housing bubble.

Chart 5 - The brokers at Goldman Sachs are going to need the Fed to print more.  Average income at the firm dropped $52,000, or about $5,000 more than the average American salary to $380,000.  How will they survive if Washington DC doesn't demand more spending forcing the Fed to print more money?

Is anyone out there starting to see the cycle.  Fed feeds the gov, gov feeds the Fed, both feed the banks, the stock market, and about four asset bubbles.

Save November 3rd for a casual afternoon discussion of the quickly approaching economic crash with the Chair of the Libertarian Party- details to come.  IF you get too worried between here and there perhaps Fed Chairman Ben Bernanke's strategy will get us all through the mess.  Clearly the Red Teams Strategy is out, although they say it's just a minor flesh wound.
