My Fall Must-Have's

Seven key items that every woman should have in her fashion line-up for Fall.

It's that time of the year again! I know, I know...this means that snow will surely be on the ground soon (let's not cross our fingers!). Even though the chill might not be for everyone, I have to admit that Fall is absolutely my favorite season simply for the fab fashion. So, I've dug deep into my brain (in other words, my closet) to share my fashion must-have's for Fall.

1) An Oh-So-Adorable Fall Jacket
The chill of Fall can take a toll on a girl if she doesn't take a jacket along with her! So, why not wear a patterned trench coat that we keep you looking classic and cozy? A Fall jacket is totally necessary for a woman of all ages, just remember to pick a jacket that is timeless with a bit of added flair (go for those compliments, ladies!). My go-to Fall jacket is a black and white diamond-pattern wrap by BB Dakota and it's perfect!

2) A Chunky Knit Infinity Scarf
One of my favorite accessories that has appeared just in the last five years is the infinity scarf (aka the circle scarf). What I personally love about these scarves is the versatility. I can slip on my Fall jacket and pair it with my scarf on my walk to class, or I can go for a jog with it on. I also love that these scarves are great for a women of any age. I'm known for stealing my mom's infinity scarves (don't tell her!).

3) A Neutral Colored Handbag
Handbags are one of my favorite accessories and I know that we ladies can get easily attached to them. It's like they become an extension of ourselves. Now, I would like to consider my self a bargain-hunter, but handbags are the one item that I must encourage you to splurge on! I just recently purchased a super-cute bag that was only $20 and it broke less than a month into use (cue the tears). So, I must encourage you to purchase a quality handbag, preferably leather, in a neutral color. I promise you it will last for a long time and it will never go out of style!

4) A Wrap Sweater
Wrap sweaters are my favorite addition to any Fall outfit. These sweaters are another age-defying article of clothing (yep, my mother and I share them!). Why do I love these sweaters? Simple! A girl can look put together while feeling extremely comfortable (it's like wearing a blanket). I encourage you to pair your wrap sweater with an adorable statement necklace or pair of large post earrings, just to jazz your outfit up.

5) A Plaid Button Down Shirt
Layering is one of my favorite things to do during the chilly months, which is nearly nine months out of they year. A light plaid button down shirt is perfect for wearing under a sweater or by itself. The reemergence of the 90's in our clothing also appears in a plaid shirt, so you'll be on trend!

6) A Pair of Booties
No, no, no...not THOSE kind of booties! I'm talking about boots that come just over you ankle. Booties are continuing their reign from last season, but they're stepping it up a bit! Focus on a pair of booties that are a neutral color, think brown or black, but have an "edge" to them. Find a pair with studs or buckles that will take your look to the next level. If you really want to be on-trend, go for a pair of Oxblood booties (I found a pair downtown at La Rue Marche that are to-die-for).

7) A Pair of Knee-High Boot Socks
Some Fall days can be blustery and down-right freezing. Knee-high boot socks minimize the bone-chilling effect that occurs to our poor toes! I am totally obsessed with boot socks! Not only do they keep my feet toasty, but they look totally chic peeking out of a pair of tall leather boots. My go-to boot sock is a light grey with specks of brown and white, so they go with literally every outfit.

These must-have's are meant to inspire you to stay fashion-forward even in the midst of the chilly weather. Maybe the cute clothing will turn you feelings around about the gloomy skies outside?

Stay Fabulous,
Maren
