OBIT: Kristin M. Zappa, age 29, of Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Hudson, WI

In Loving Memory of Kristin M. Zappa

Kristin Marie Zappa (nee: McQuitty), age 29, of South Minneapolis, MN, formerly of Hudson, WI passed away on April 16, 2013 at her parent’s home surrounded by family, following a courageous 15 year battle with a brain tumor. 

Kristin was born on July 10, 1983 in Milwaukee, WI to Jim and Jo (Edwardsen) McQuitty. Her family moved to Hudson in 1994, where she graduated from high school. 

Following graduation from Hudson High School, she attended University of Minnesota-Duluth, and then St. Catherine University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Respiratory Therapy. This degree led to her career at Methodist Hospital - Park Nicollet in St. Louis Park, MN, a position which she took great pride in.

On June 19, 2010, she was united in marriage to Matthew Alexander Zappa in Stillwater, MN, and they made their home in South Minneapolis. 

Kristin in survived by her husband, Matthew of South Minneapolis, MN; parents, Jim and Jo McQuitty of Hudson, WI; sister, Kelly McQuitty of Hudson, WI; grandfather and grandmother; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth Edwardsen and James McQuitty. 

Services will be held at 1:30p.m. on Saturday, April 20, 2013 at the O’Connell Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson with a visitation from 11a.m.-1:30p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Brain Tumor Association or the National Brain Tumor Association.
