Project Foot Steps is launching a new program for middle school age children in Hudson called “Change Starts With Me.”  A two-day retreat will be hosted by Dr. Sue Anderson’s Healing Arts Well Care Center.  Take the time to research the program and the people involved before you turn over God’s most precious creation – your child. When you sign up your child for a “program,” do you look just at the surface (newspaper article/advertisement) or do you investigate further?  This becomes more crucial when you will not be with your child. Who is facilitating the program?  Is the child in a “captive” audience?  Will he or she be staying overnight-- without you?  Do you know the backgrounds and worldviews of those who are in a position of influence?Parents, you are responsible for your children 24/7. What you do with the following information is totally up to you.  You may think this is a great program, but go in with eyes open.  Do your own research.  Is there more than meets the eye? I say very possibly. Project Foot Steps was started by a young [African American] man in 2008 who is from South Chicago.  Did his path in life include community organizing, social justice, and “sustainable” programs(environmentalism)?  What type of change s involved with “Change Starts With Me?” Hope and Change? You also should be familiar with the Healing Arts Well Care Center.  Think New Age, Numerology, Astrology, Eastern Religion. Although I believe in many holistic practices, such as organic food, herbs, and supplements, it stops there. I am not saying many or most of these projects are not worthwhile. But you need to know what else the children are learning.  Adults can be very influential.  Please use the utmost caution with your children.  You be the judge.
