Cebena N. Grass Kringle, age 91 of Hudson WI and Tucson AZ, died on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at her Red Cedar Canyon residence in Hudson. Cebena, also affectionately known to many as “Pete”, was born on June 3, 1922 in Roberts WI to parents Harold & Minnie (Erickson) Worrell. She was raised in the Roberts area and graduated from Warren Union High School in Roberts with the Class of 1940. Cebena was united in marriage to Paul Grass on June 15, 1940. Their union in marriage would be blessed with five children. Paul would precede her in death in 1984. In April of 1991, Cebena was united in marriage to Kenneth Kringle in Tucson AZ. Kenneth would precede her in death in 2010.
Cebena kept busy as a wife, mom and homemaker. Cebena also enjoyed being active in her church, as well as tennis, golfing, sewing, baking, fishing, camping, snowmobiling, and playing cards. Every year, she tended to her vegetable gardens and her strawberry patch; canning her harvest, and sharing with others that which she had grown. As a 4-H leader, Cebena helped others grow too. She will be missed by her family, and countless others who loved her dearly.
Cebena was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Grass; son, Ronald Grass; grandson Richard Kidd; son-in-law, Richard Kidd; her parents; 3 brothers; 4 sisters; and her second husband, Kenneth Kringle. Cebena is survived by her children, Paul (Lynda) Grass of Tucson AZ, Geraldine Kidd of Roberts WI, Janet (Roger) Dierks of Hudson WI, and Christian Grass of Fairbanks AK; 15 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Joyce (Robert) Rust of West Richland WA; brother, Virgil Worrell of Broadus MT; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Celebration of Life for Cebena will be held at 2:30pm on Sunday afternoon, September 15th at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 712 Grandview Drive in Hudson. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the discretion of the family.
