UPDATE: Police Chief Says Abduction Attempt Was a Misunderstanding

The Hudson Police Department has concluded its investigation into Wednesday's reported child abduction attempt.

UPDATE (Feb. 2, 2012, 1:22 p.m.): Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen issued the following press release about Wednesday's incident:

On Thursday February 2, 2012 detectives from the Hudson Police Department followed up on a tip received the night before regarding the attempted child abduction.  During the course of this investigation detectives interviewed three Hudson High School students, as well as re-interviewing the female involved in this incident.  It was learned during the course of these interviews that there was a misunderstanding between all those involved and that there was not any attempt to abduct the 11 year old girl.

The Hudson Police Department has closed its investigation into this matter and we are no longer looking for the older white vehicle or the male and female from the earlier press release.

ORIGINAL POST (Feb. 1, 2012, 7:32 p.m.): The issued the following press release on Wednesday evening about an attempted child abduction:

On Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at approximately 3:10 pm an attempted child abduction occurred in the City of Hudson, Wisconsin. An 11 year old female was walking home from school in the 900 block of Grandview Drive, when an older looking white vehicle pulled up alongside the girl. The victim stated the vehicle was occupied by a white male and white female. The victim stated the male in the vehicle yelled at her to get in the car. The girl stated no and then took off running going between houses. She said the male got out of this vehicle and took off running after her for a short distance before turning around and going back toward the car. The victim was able to find some older children in the area who helped her call her father and then the Hudson Police Department.

The only description of the two suspects in this case are a white female with possible reddish hair and a white male who was wearing sunglasses. Both suspects are possibly in their 30's. The vehicle they were in was an older looking white car that was dirty.

If anyone has information on the identity of these two suspects or the vehicle that was used, please contact the Hudson Police Department at 715-386-4771 or 715-386-4701.
