UPDATE: Bomb Squad Destroys Suspicious Package at County Market

Hudson Police officers shut down Crest View Drive at County Market while bomb squad personnel worked to remove a suspicious package in the grocery store parking lot.

UPDATE (6:57 p.m., Sept. 19, 2012): Bomb squad personnel destroyed a suspicious package that turned out to be coffee cans filled with rocks and sand in the County Market parking lot in Hudson shortly after 6 p.m., according to Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen.

The suspicious item was two coffee cans duct taped to each other to form a long cylinder along with tape and rope, according to Jensen.

Thanks to surveillance cameras in the parking lot, police have a suspect vehicle and a person of interest in the incident, which remains under investigation.
