Brazen Burglars Hits Six Hudson Homes, One in North Hudson

North Hudson Police are reminding everyone to lock their homes and vehicles.

An occupied home in the 500 block of Sommers Landing Road North was burglarized last night, according to a crime alert issued by the North Hudson Police Department.

The suspect entered the garage by accessing a garage door opener in an unlocked car in front of the home and then entered the home through an unlocked door from the garage, according to the crime alert. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. Monday and 4 a.m. Tuesday while the residents were in their home asleep.

The homeowner’s wallet was stolen and several of his credit cards had been used in Eagan, Minn., and other Metro area locations, by the time he was able to contact his bank and credit card companies, police said.

Hudson Police detectives Geoff Willems and Pete Schultz told the Star Observer that six burglaries have been in Hudson since July 27, all while residents were at home sleeping.

The burglars followed a similar mode of operation by using garage door openers taken from vehicles to enter unlocked doors of the homes.

Both the Hudson and North Hudson Police Departments are actively investigating these case, but police are reminding everyone to lock their homes and vehicles.

If you saw anything suspicious or have information in this case, call the North Hudson Police Department at (715) 386-8433 and the Hudson Police Department at (715) 386-4771.
