Hudson Police Blotter: Pit Bull Bites Woman in Face at Lakefront Park

The following information was supplied by the Hudson Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Dog Bite: On Saturday, July 16, a Hudson officer was dispatched to assist St. Croix EMS with a dog bite incident at the city's boat launch in Lakefront Park. A 50-year-old woman had a two-inch area of her lower lip that had been separated from her mouth because of the bite from a one-year-old female pit bull. Both the victim's boyfriend and the dog owner said that it was not a vicious bite, but an accidental one. The woman was helping the dog up a ladder into the boat when it slipped. That's when the dog bit the woman in the face. The officer completed and explained the St. Croix County Animal Quarantine Order to the dog's owner.

Property Damage: The word "disobey" was spray-painted on the southeast side of a building in the 400 block of Second Street on July 9 or July 10. Damage was estimated at $50.

Photography: Employees at a business in the 500 block of Second Street called police to complain about a man who was taking photos of staff members, including a 16-year-old girl. The man said he was purchasing services at the shop when he asked if he could take photos of the staff, and they agreed. The owner of the shop said the man frequents the shop and makes staff and customers uncomfortable. The man was warned that if he went back to the business he could be arrested for trespassing.
