Hudson Police ID Woman Who Approached Children with 'Free Kittens'

"It has been determined that this woman was merely trying to give away these kittens and meant no harm to the children," Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said. "We feel this woman presents no danger to community and our investigation is closed

Police have identified a woman who reportedly offered three children free kittens last week if they would get into her vehicle.

“The Hudson Police Department was able to identify the woman involved in the incident last week where she attempted to give kittens to children near the intersection of Frear and 13th streets,” Hudson Police Chief Marty Jensen said in a statement. “It has been determined that this woman was merely trying to give away these kittens and meant no harm to the children. We feel this woman presents no danger to community and our investigation is closed.”

Three 11-year-old children were walking home at about 3:50 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 in the area of 13th Street South and Frear Street near E.P. Rock Elementary School when they the woman approached the kids offered them free kittens. When the children refused, the woman offered to give the children a ride home.

The children again refused, the police chief said, and the woman drove away.
